Skyline 14 Royal Erin owned the top spot in the rankings since February, however, it’s Legacy 14-1 Adidas ending the season there after taking down the North Texas club in the 14 Open final at nationals in Indy. Legacy capped an amazing season with the gold medal and its second national championship after also earning gold at AAUs in Orlando. Legacy’s other achievements this year included winning the Nike Classic, MEQ and the JVA SummerFest to go with second-place showings at Triple Crown and the Sunshine Classic. The results in Indy weighed heavily in shaping the final Top 50. It’s like the NFL, NBA or MLB, where the ultimate goal isn’t putting up the best record during the regular season, it’s winning a championship when it’s all said and done. So no matter what happened during the regular season, if Team A eliminated Team B from medal contention during challenge or gold bracket play, then Team A is always going to be ranked ahead of Team B without exception. There was a good amount of shake up because of it. Boiler Jrs 14 Gold, Elevation 14 Case, 1United 14 Blue and Circle City 14 Purple all climbed into the Top 10 to end the year. Absolute 14 Black made a huge push, rising from No. 26 to No. 11. AZ Sky 14G went from No. 22 to No. 13, and PineappleHP 14U rose from No. 28 to No. 15. You can view the full Top 50 below. In hindsight, everyone probably should have seen it coming, Wave 15 Brennan finishing the season with the USAV 15 Open gold medal. After all, this is a team that suffered its last loss at Triple Crown back in February. Wave lost to Legacy 15-1 Adidas on Day 1, then its final two matches on the last day to Madfrog 15 Green and KC Power 15-1, which was the last team to defeat Wave this season. Wave extracted a measure of revenge in Indy, eliminating KC Power in the quarterfinals. Wave ended the year 59-6, with a 42-6 mark against Open-qualified teams. Congrats, and obviously Wave finishes the season on top of our final Top 50 rankings. The results in Indy weighed heavily in shaping the final Top 50. It’s like the NFL, NBA or MLB, where the ultimate goal isn’t putting up the best record during the regular season, it’s winning a championship when it’s all said and done. So no matter what happened during the regular season, if Team A eliminated Team B from medal contention during challenge or gold bracket play, then Team A is always going to be ranked ahead of Team B without exception. It’s why Legacy is ranked behind OT 15 Randy despite Legacy winning AAUs and OT finishing third in Orlando. OT beat Legacy in Day 3 challenge play to advance to the gold bracket in Indy, and thus finishes at No. 2 in our Top 50. Legacy is right behind at No. 3, though Legacy finished ninth in Indy, since it’s only loss there was to OT. No team benefitted more from this rule than SC Rockstar 15 Carlos, which jumped from No. 21 to No. 6 in our final Top 50 after upsetting Madfrog in the quarterfinals. Madfrog ends the season at No. 7. Boiler Jrs 15 Gold was the only other newcomer to the Top 10, climbing slightly from No. 13 to No. 10. You can view the full Top 50 below. The expected showdown between the nation’s two best teams in 16 Open came to fruition in Indianapolis as A5 16-1 Gabe and TAV 16 Black went toe-to-toe for the USAV gold medal. Previously, TAV handed A5 its only loss back in January at the first stop of the Tour of Texas. A5 returned the favor and defeated TAV in the final of the Sunshine Classic a month later. The rubber match couldn’t have come on a bigger stage, and with it the well-deserved honor of being the best in the country. When the smoke cleared, TAV was left holding the championships trophy. And with it, ends the season ranked No. 1 in our final Top 50. The results in Indy weighed heavily in shaping the final Top 50. It’s like the NFL, NBA or MLB, where the ultimate goal isn’t putting up the best record during the regular season, it’s winning a championship when it’s all said and done. So no matter what happened during the regular season, if Team A eliminated Team B from medal contention during challenge or gold bracket play, then Team A is always going to be ranked ahead of Team B without exception. With that said, it came as a surprise that the top of the rankings mostly stayed true. A5 and TAV switched spots at Nos. 1 and 2, as did Skyline 16 Royal Paul and Circle City 16 Purple at Nos. 3 and 5. Wave 16 Scott held firm at No. 5, as did Alamo 16 Premier at No. 6. HJV 16 Elite climbed a few spots, moving from No. 11 to No. 7. 1st Alliance 16 Gold moved up from No. 9 to No. 8. The two newcomers to the Top 10 where Adversity 16 Adidas and MN Select 16-1. Adversity jumped from No. 21 to No. 9 and MN Select moved from No. 24 to No. 10. A couple of other teams to make giant jumps were Iowa Premier 16-1 and PineappleHP 16U. A giant congrats goes out to TAV 17 Black Jon, which was the undisputed best team during the season and then more than backed it up at USAV nationals in Indy by taking home the 17 Open gold medal. The accolades are impressive to be sure. A final record of 73-5, which includes going 53-5 against Open-qualified teams. Three of the five losses came on Day 1 of the Triple Crown Summer NIT. The only other losses were to WPVC 17 Armour Black at the Sunshine Classic and to A5 17 Calvin on Day 1 of nationals in Indy. TAV went undefeated at both Tour of Texas stops, undefeated in winning Triple Crown, and undefeated in winning MEQ and the Lone Star Classic. Of course, none of that is as impressive as earning the ultimate prize, which is USAV gold. That leads to how the final rankings are constructed. The results in Indy weighed heavily in shaping the final Top 50. It did help create quite a shake up in the rankings, though seven of the Top 10 teams entering nationals remained in the Top 10. A5 proved one of the biggest climbers, moving up from No. 23 to No. 8. Nebraska One 17 Synergy – from No. 16 to No. 5 – and AZ Sky 17G – from No. 17 to No. 6 – also jumped into the final Top 10 with their impressive performances. HPSTL 17 Royal was another big mover, climbing from No. 49 all the way to No. 13. Coast made an impressive jump as well, sliding up from No. 41 to No. 17. You can view the full Top 50 below. Just like the 16s and 17s rankings, the top spot remained unchanged in the 14s as well. The last regular-season update for the 15s national rankings brings about a new No. 1. It’ll be Legacy 15-1 Adidas heading into the summer holding down the top spot. Legacy and Madfrog 15 Green flip-flopped after Legacy downed Madfrog in the Salt Lake final late last month. Skyline 15 Royal and Wave 15 Brennan held steady at No. 3 and 4 respectively, while AJV 15 Adidas climbed up four positions to round out the Top 5. SynergyForce 15 Natl was one of the biggest movers after climbing 11 places to No. 16. Qualifying season is over and with it the attention turns to nationals. In the meantime, we’ve updated our national rankings for the 16s division. This is the last Top 50 of the regular season. The next update comes after nationals and will be our final rankings of the club season. Only a few qualifiers remained after our April release and those results helped in forming the latest Top 50. This is the last regular-season rankings for the 17s division. The next update will come after nationals and serve as our final Top 50 for 2026. There wasn’t a lot of movement since our April update. That’s because there were just three qualifiers in Show Me, Far Western and the Salt Lake Showdown, plus a couple of others tournaments like the JVA World Challenge. The results from those did cause a bit of shuffling, but more near the bottom than the top, where TAV 17 Black Jon held steady at No. 1. Club V 17 Prodigy Reed, fresh off winning its third qualifier of the season in Salt Lake, remains firmly at No. 2. The only change in the Top 10 came from Arizona Storm 17 Thunder and WPVC 17 Armour Black switching spots at Nos. 3 and 4. You can view the full Top 50 below. That’s a wrap for the 18s after this past weekend’s USAV national championships in Reno. Congrats to SC Rockstar LOVB 18 Amir on winning 18 Open gold. And as a result, the group finishes the season at No. 1 in our final national rankings. SC Rockstar LOVB began the season at No. 1, though it didn’t go wire-to-wire as it dropped from the top spot during the season. It also completed an amazingly successful four-year run for this squad. In 15s, then-SCVC finished in ninth place with just one loss at nationals. The next season SCVC went undefeated and captured 16 Open gold, then finished with a bronze last summer in 17 Open before the players capped their club careers with another undefeated performance for 18 Open gold. The results this past weekend weighed heavily in shaping the final national rankings. It’s like the NFL, NBA or MLB, where the ultimate goal isn’t putting up the best record during the regular season, it’s winning a championship when it’s all said and done. So no matter what happened during the regular season, if Team A eliminated Team B from a medal during challenge or bracket play, then Team A is always going to be ranked ahead of Team B.
