Camp season is coming and I already know what’s about to happen.
Families are going to drop $500+ on a camp they found on Instagram or were emailed without ever asking the one question that actually matters:
Does this coach even know who your kid is?
Because here’s the truth nobody ...selling you a camp spot is going to tell you —
If you haven’t emailed that staff, sent film, filled out the questionnaire, or communicated ANY interest before you show up…
You’re not “getting exposure.”
You’re paying to be invisible.
Camps are not magic. They’re leverage tools. And leverage only works if you’ve built something to leverage.
Now — are there camps that are run extremely well? Absolutely. Sunshine, High Academic, TAV, SG Elite, BEV — those are legit. Structured. Organized. Real evaluation environments.
But even the best-run camp in the country doesn’t replace strategy.
Before you register, ask yourself:
Have we sent film to this staff?
Have we filled out their recruiting questionnaire?
Have we communicated interest directly?
Is this aligned with where she actually is in her recruiting process?
If the answer is no to most of those… save your money and do the work first.
