Notes From Lovejoy Scrimmages

Hannah Beauford, shown playing for Drive Nation this past club season, is looking to make an impact for Prosper this fall. The 2022 high school volleyball season is underway in Texas! Saturday, Aug. 6, vballrecruiter.com was on hand watching the Lovejoy HS scrimmages with host Lovejoy, Gunter, Prosper and Prestonwood Christian. I had a chance to see potential starting lineups along with the “off the bench” athletes finding their groove. Here is a brief preview of these teams from what I saw. Lovejoy HS has big shoes to fill but they have plenty of depth to fill in the voids. Returning for the State 5A Powerhouse program includes North Texas commit SR MB Hannah Gonzalez (3-Star Recruit), JR S Bethanie Wu (4-Star) and JR Opp/DS Reagan Fitzsimmons. Other names to start remembering are SO MB/Opp Shelby Burriss (3-Star), Illinois state move-in JR S Nicole Cornell and a trio of DS’s to watch in JR Mckenna Brand, JR Isa Camacho, and JR Kalin Carlson. Gunter HS returns a large core of the Texas UIL 3A runner up squad which includes Southern Nazarene commit SR OH Rayanna Mauldin and Texas Wesleyan commit SR MB Hanna Rubis. Other stand out athletes included UTSA commit SR Miranda Putnicki, SR L Briley Singleton, Hendrix commit SR S Adilynn Henry, JR S Brelee Mauldin and SO OH Chloe Johnson. Prestonwood Christian was the lone TAPPS school at this scrimmage. The TAPPS State runner up squad includes JR OH Jadyn Livings (5-Star), JR OH Mikala Young (4-Star), JR S Camille Edwards (5-Star), and SO L Gillian Pitts (5-Star). Newcomers include U19 USA Team athlete SO OH Macari Spears (5-Star), SO S Taylor Cook (4-Star) and JR MB Autumn Smith. Spears did not play in the scrimmage. Prosper HS returns another great lineup of returners heading into the season which include Alabama commit S SR Callie Kieffer (4-Star), Louisiana Lafayette commit SR OH Ella Chaney, Gonzaga commit SR L Brianna Martin, Nebraska commit OH/MB Ayden Ames (5-Star) and JR OH Reese Renfrow (3-Star). Newcomers looking to make an impact this season include SO S Hannah Beauford (3-Star), FR S/Opp Danielle Whitmire (5-Star), and FR MB Jayla Jackson (3-Star).

UA Next Camp Indy: Middle School Ballers Edition

The Under Armour Next Middle School Camp Series Indy stop rocked with the 2026-2029 classes representing players from Idaho, Utah, California, Pennsylvania, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Louisiana and Florida. There were five MVPs awarded at the end of the camp. Receiving the honor were 2026 L Norah Campbell (MAVA), 2027 L Cedra Talaga (Mizuno Long Beach), 2027 OH Hannah McGuinest, 2027 MB Simrin Adams (Mizuno Long Beach) and 2026 S Ramsey Larke Christian (Upward Stars). In addition, 2027 S Nua Alofipo (Club V) was selected as the UA Middle School Player of the Week. We want to shine a spotlight on other athletes who played well during the camp session as well. At the setting position, we already mentioned 2026 Ramsey Larke Chastain (Upward Stars) and 2027 S Nua Alofipo (Club V) leading the way. Also starring and showing finesse and leadership were: 2027 Leilah Teves (Mizuno Long Beach) 2027 Gig Chasco (Milwaukee Sting) 2027 Serania Fonoti (Club Ignit Select) 2028 Riley Stringer (Mizuno Long Beach) 2029 Kaelyn Easton (Legacy) At the libero position 2026 Norah Campbell (MAVA) and 2027 Cedra Campbell (Mizuno Long Beach) led a scrappy and explosive group of athletes. UA Next Camp Indy: Top Talent Rules The Day

The Under Armour Next Indy Selection Camp on June 25 helped start the early sessions of the USAV Girls Junior National Volleyball Championships. With around 150 athletes in the gym you could feel the electricity the moment the girls walked in! Just like the previous camps, star-studded talent was in the house and as a result naming MVPs proved challenging. In addition to the six MVPs awarded, there were also Golden Tickets dished out to the UA All-America game in December. The MVPs selected at the end of the camp were 2023 Florida commit OH Kennedy Martin (FC Elite), 2023 Creighton OH Destiny Ndam-Simpson (Premier Nebraska), 2023 Georgetown commit MB Kamryn Lee-Caracci (1st Alliance), 2023 Ohio State commit OH Grace Egan (1st Alliance), 2025 OH Teraya Sigler (AZ Storm), and 2025 OH Addison Tindall (Team Pineapple). In her words: It all started when we arrived at the DFW airport. We boarded the plane and were ready to take off for Indy. However, we sat on the runway for about an hour before they announced that the flight was canceled at 11pm. So, my dad drove me 900 miles through the night to get to the Under Armor Selection Camp. We set off on a mission to drive 14 hours to get to the camp before it ended. The mission was a success! From 12:30am to 2:30pm we drove to get an amazing experience from the vballrecruiter. Under Armour Next Series: Orlando’s Star-Studded Event

With just over 150 athletes in the gym you could feel the excitement and energy the moment the girls walked in. Star-studded talent was in the house and as a result multiple MVPs were named and Golden Tickets awarded! The five MVPs given out at the end of the camp went to 2023 Oregon commit OH Becca Kelley, 2024 OH Amanda Mack (K2), 2024 OH Lauren Harden (Rev), 2024 S Nayelis Cabello (Top Select) and 2024 Opp Bailey Higgins (OTVA Tampa). Notes From Lovejoy Scrimmages

Hannah Beauford, shown playing for Drive Nation this past club season, is looking to make an impact for Prosper this fall. The 2022 high school volleyball season is underway in Texas! Saturday, Aug. 6, vballrecruiter.com was on hand watching the Lovejoy HS scrimmages with host Lovejoy, Gunter, Prosper and Prestonwood Christian. I had a chance to see potential starting lineups along with the “off the bench” athletes finding their groove. Here is a brief preview of these teams from what I saw. Lovejoy HS has big shoes to fill but they have plenty of depth to fill in the voids. Returning for the State 5A Powerhouse program includes North Texas commit SR MB Hannah Gonzalez (3-Star Recruit), JR S Bethanie Wu (4-Star) and JR Opp/DS Reagan Fitzsimmons. Other names to start remembering are SO MB/Opp Shelby Burriss (3-Star), Illinois state move-in JR S Nicole Cornell and a trio of DS’s to watch in JR Mckenna Brand, JR Isa Camacho, and JR Kalin Carlson. Gunter HS returns a large core of the Texas UIL 3A runner up squad which includes Southern Nazarene commit SR OH Rayanna Mauldin and Texas Wesleyan commit SR MB Hanna Rubis. Other stand out athletes included UTSA commit SR Miranda Putnicki, SR L Briley Singleton, Hendrix commit SR S Adilynn Henry, JR S Brelee Mauldin and SO OH Chloe Johnson. Prestonwood Christian was the lone TAPPS school at this scrimmage. The TAPPS State runner up squad includes JR OH Jadyn Livings (5-Star), JR OH Mikala Young (4-Star), JR S Camille Edwards (5-Star), and SO L Gillian Pitts (5-Star). Newcomers include U19 USA Team athlete SO OH Macari Spears (5-Star), SO S Taylor Cook (4-Star) and JR MB Autumn Smith. Spears did not play in the scrimmage. UA Next Camp Indy: Middle School Ballers Edition

The Under Armour Next Middle School Camp Series Indy stop rocked with the 2026-2029 classes representing players from Idaho, Utah, California, Pennsylvania, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Louisiana and Florida. There were five MVPs awarded at the end of the camp. Receiving the honor were 2026 L Norah Campbell (MAVA), 2027 L Cedra Talaga (Mizuno Long Beach), 2027 OH Hannah McGuinest, 2027 MB Simrin Adams (Mizuno Long Beach) and 2026 S Ramsey Larke Christian (Upward Stars). In addition, 2027 S Nua Alofipo (Club V) was selected as the UA Middle School Player of the Week. We want to shine a spotlight on other athletes who played well during the camp session as well. At the setting position, we already mentioned 2026 Ramsey Larke Chastain (Upward Stars) and 2027 S Nua Alofipo (Club V) leading the way. Also starring and showing finesse and leadership were: 2027 Leilah Teves (Mizuno Long Beach) 2027 Gig Chasco (Milwaukee Sting) 2027 Serania Fonoti (Club Ignit Select) 2028 Riley Stringer (Mizuno Long Beach) 2029 Kaelyn Easton (Legacy) At the libero position 2026 Norah Campbell (MAVA) and 2027 Cedra Campbell (Mizuno Long Beach) led a scrappy and explosive group of athletes. Joining them in standing out were: 2026 Ammecy Ray (Sports Performance) 2027 Maysa Lawrence (Metro) 2027 Francesca Hansel (Tri-State) 2028 Kyla Hurley (Team Pineapple) At middle blocker, 2027 Simrin Adams (Mizuno Long Beach) made her appearance known. The Under Armour Next Indy Selection Camp on June 25 helped start the early sessions of the USAV Girls Junior National Volleyball Championships. With around 150 athletes in the gym you could feel the electricity the moment the girls walked in! Just like the previous camps, star-studded talent was in the house and as a result naming MVPs proved challenging. In addition to the six MVPs awarded, there were also Golden Tickets dished out to the UA All-America game in December. The MVPs selected at the end of the camp were 2023 Florida commit OH Kennedy Martin (FC Elite), 2023 Creighton OH Destiny Ndam-Simpson (Premier Nebraska), 2023 Georgetown commit MB Kamryn Lee-Caracci (1st Alliance), 2023 Ohio State commit OH Grace Egan (1st Alliance), 2025 OH Teraya Sigler (AZ Storm), and 2025 OH Addison Tindall (Team Pineapple). The four Golden Tickets recipients were 2023 Purdue commit OH Chloe Chicoine (Circle City), 2023 UCLA commit S Ashley Mullen (Dynasty), 2023 Indiana L Ramsey Gary (Munciana), and 2023 Kentucky commit Brooke Bultema (Elevation). In her words: It all started when we arrived at the DFW airport. We boarded the plane and were ready to take off for Indy. However, we sat on the runway for about an hour before they announced that the flight was canceled at 11pm. So, my dad drove me 900 miles through the night to get to the Under Armor Selection Camp. We set off on a mission to drive 14 hours to get to the camp before it ended. The mission was a success! From 12:30am to 2:30pm we drove to get an amazing experience from the vballrecruiter. I am so glad that we made it to play with some very talented girls. This opportunity truly was worth the time and effort. With just over 150 athletes in the gym you could feel the excitement and energy the moment the girls walked in. The five MVPs given out at the end of the camp went to 2023 Oregon commit OH Becca Kelley, 2024 OH Amanda Mack (K2), 2024 OH Lauren Harden (Rev), 2024 S Nayelis Cabello (Top Select) and 2024 Opp Bailey Higgins (OTVA Tampa).
