vballrecruiter.com’s 17s Club Top 50 National Rankings

We present our first 17s Club Top 50 National Rankings of the season! It’s going to take a bit of time for the results to begin to pile up, especially considering qualifying doesn’t begin to ramp up until March with the exception of the Northern Lights event at the end of January. Still, there is the Tour of Texas, the MLK tournaments, the Nike Classic and Central Zone all coming in the next 30 days. All of those events will help shape the next 17s updated Top 50 as we head into Triple Crown and beyond. Our initial rankings were put together as preseason rankings and didn’t account for any results to date, which will change with our next update. For now, you can view our first Top 50 of the season below. vballrecruiter.com’S 17s TOP 50 NATIONAL RANKINGS 1. Tribe 17 Elite Cardinal FL 2. AZ Storm 17 Thunder AZ 3. 1st Alliance 17 Gold IL 4. vballrecruiter.com’s 18s Club Top 50 National Rankings

We are entering our ninth season since USAV split up the Girls Junior National Championships and made the 18s a separate event. The first 18s-only championship was contested in Milwaukee in 2016 and the gold medal was brought home by MN Select. Since then, no club has repeated as national champion, keeping in mind the tournament wasn’t played in 2020. Could this be the season the streak ends? We say that because TAV 18 Black captured the gold medal in 2019, when the three-day tourney was played in Dallas. This year’s national championship is set for Baltimore, April 26-28, and it’s a likely possibility that TAV will show up as the team to beat. The North Texas Region club starts the season ranked No. 1 in vballrecruiter.com’s 18s Club Top 50 National Rankings. TAV is one of three Texas clubs starting off in the Top 10, joined by Hou Skyline 18 Royal and Madfrog 18 Green. Qualifying begins next weekend, with both the Windy City 18s National Qualifier and the Asics Kansas City MLK Tournament taking place. TAV is not scheduled to play in either. In fact, only one Texas club is set to play during the opening qualifying weekend. That is TIV 18 Black in Kansas City. The field there features nine teams from the Top 50 below. As for Chicago, that field is highlighted by No. 2 1st Alliance 18 Gold and features a total of 10 clubs from the Top 50. With three more qualifiers slated for this month, it won’t take very long for the rankings to start to shake up before they begin to shape up. Our initial rankings were put together as preseason rankings and didn’t account for any results to date, which will change with our next update. vballrecruiter.com’s 14s Final Club National Rankings (2023)

The final 14s Club National Rankings had quite the anomaly that we may never see again as long as we do our lists. With the top teams clearly establishing themselves in 14 Open at the USAV Girls Junior National Championships in Chicago, there was no movement with the top six teams. TAV 14 Black brought home the gold medal and ends the season where it started – at No. 1. Arizona Storm 14 Thunder captured the silver medal after falling to TAV in the championship match and ends at No. 2 – the same spot Storm entered at. The same goes for Nos. 3-6 as well. Tstreet 14 Carson was knocked out of contention with its quarterfinal loss to Storm and stayed put at No. 3. Mizuno Long Beach 14 Rockstar lost to TAV in the quarterfinals and remained at No. 4. With Madfrog 14 Green and Skyline 14 Royal also tying for fifth, niether moved and end at No. 5 and 6 respectively. There was no change until No. 7, as Drive Nation 14 Red made a modest climb up three spots from No. 10. Club V 14 Ren Silver was among the biggest movers. With Club V making the Top 8, the Utah club rose up from No. 29 to No. 8. You can view the full rankings below. There are lots of factors to take into consideration when formulating a list like this. It leaves plenty of room for debate as these rankings are ultimately subjective. There are power league results, qualifier results, national tournaments like Triple Crown and of course the USAV Girls Junior Nationals and AAU national championships. All these come into play. We put more weight on what happened at Junior Nationals than a qualifier because the whole season is built toward peaking at JN’s. We also had one steadfast rule we didn’t break no matter the circumstances. That rule was if Team A defeated Team B in a gold challenge match or gold bracket match at JN’s, Team A is always going to be ranked ahead of Team B. That’s because everyone comes to JN’s to win a gold medal and if Team A eliminates Team B from contention, it won at the absolute right time. It can make for some skewed overall rankings as a team might be too high or low overall but what’s the point if the biggest head-to-head matches of the season aren’t the most important ones? vballrecruiter.com FINAL TOP 50 NATIONAL RANKINGS 1. vballrecruiter.com’s 15s Final Club National Rankings (2023)

There was no doubt which teams separated themselves from the rest this year when it came to the 15s division. The 15 Open championship matches at both AAUs and USAV featured the same two sides squaring off for gold. It was a split decision, with Mintonette Sports m.51 grabbing first in Orlando and Skyline 15 Royal earning gold in Chicago. It left a tiny amount of room for debate as to which deserved to be the top team in our final national rankings, but not very much. There’s no denying that Chicago featured a much deeper field than Orlando, and with Skyline winning out there it was an easy decision to keep Skyline at No. 1. The North Texas Region club has occupied that spot since winning Triple Crown back in February, when it replaced Mintonette. Since then, the two have remained at Nos. 1 and 2 respectively and now end the season there too. There was some significant movement inside the Top 10 behind them, as five teams climbed inside the Top 10 in the final update. Arizona Storm 15 Thunder jumped from No. 12 to No. 5. Pohaku 15-1, by virtue of its upset of SCVC 15 Roxy in the challenge round, shot up from No. 18 to No. 6. SCVC is right behind at No. 7, moving up from No. 14. Wave 15 Brennan, after upsetting TAV 15 Black in challenge play as well, went from No. 15 to No. 8. Lastly, Forza1 North 15 One moved a few spots from No. 13 to No. 10. None of those clubs made a leap like AVC Cle 15 Red though. AVC was at No. 31 but finishes at No. 13 after ending tied for fifth in Chicago. You can check out the full rankings below. vballrecruiter.com’s 16s Final Club National Rankings (2023)

There’s little doubt the powerhouses came to play during the 16 Open division at the USVA Girls Junior National Championships earlier this month in Chicago. Five of the Top 10 teams from our prior rankings reached the final eight, including the then-No. 1 team in the nation in 1st Alliance 16 Gold and then-No. 2 Drive Nation 16 Red in the mix. Also in contention was eventual gold-medalist Arizona Storm 16 Thunder, which took home the gold medal after downing 1st Alliance in the championship match. A year ago, Storm was a heavy favorite and top seed in 15 Open but was ultimately upset in the final by at-large recipient Alamo 15 Premier and left Indianapolis with a silver medal. While Storm put together a regular season most any other club would dream of, it did not enter this year’s national championship as the same favorite as a season ago. Storm showed more vulnerability during the spring campaign this go around but when it came down to it there was no opponent getting in the way of finishing on top, which Storm did with a perfect 11-0 record. It made Storm, which was No. 6 in our previous release, the clear-cut pick to finish the season as the No. 1 ranked team in our final Top 50 National Rankings. The other four teams also residing in the previous Top 10 remained there in 1st Alliance, Drive Nation, Hou Skyline 16 Royal and Nebraska One 16 Synergy. One of the big movers was Tribe 16 Elite Cardinal, which climbed from No. 16 to No. 5 in our final rankings. Also cracking the Top 10 was Mich Elite 16 Mizuno. The club received one of the two at-large bid and made great use of it, finishing tied for ninth and landing at No. 10 in our last update. There are lots of factors to take into consideration when formulating a list like this. It leaves plenty of room for debate as these rankings are ultimately subjective. There are power league results, qualifier results, national tournaments like Triple Crown and of course the USAV Girls Junior Nationals and AAU national championships. All these come into play. vballrecruiter.com’s 17s Final Club National Rankings (2023)

Congrats to SCVC 17 Roxy! After earning the 17 Open gold medal at the USAV Girls Junior National Championships in Chicago, the So Cal club finishes the season on top of our Top 50 Club National Rankings. There are times when teams can take advantage of a break or a fortuitous schedule. However, that was not the case with SCVC, which flexed its muscle in powering through a loaded 17s field. There’s no denying SCVC was playing its best when it mattered most. If not one but two victories over the top-ranked team in the country in Dynasty 17 Black – including in the 17 Open championship match – weren’t convincing enough, then nothing will be. SCVC’s close to the season was both stunning and remarkable as the squad picked up victories over then-No. 4 NKYVC 17-1 Tsunami in challenge play followed by taking down then-No. 2 TAV 17 Black in the quarterfinals and then-No. 7 1st Alliance 17 Gold in the semis before topping then-No. 1 Dynasty for a second time to earn the gold medal. Both Dynasty and TAV slid down a spot in our final rankings, to No. 2 and 3 respectively. Metro 17 Travel was among the biggest movers, climbing from No. 32 to No. 4 in our final rankings after finishing tied for fifth in Chicago. Wave 17 Juliana and Hou Skyline 17 Royal also both jumped into the Top 10 after impressive performances. Wave lost just one match during the four-day stretch, with it coming against Metro in the challenge round. Hou Skyline finished tied for third and earned a bronze medal after upsetting OT 17 Aaron in challenge play and Drive Nation 17 Red in the quarterfinals before falling to Dynasty in the semis. Ultimately, there are lots of factors to take into consideration when formulating a list like this. It leaves plenty of room for debate as these rankings are subjective. There are power league results, qualifier results, national tournaments like Triple Crown and of course the USAV and AAU national championships. All these come into play. 14s: Top 50 National Rankings (May 12)

We conclude our week-long Club National Rankings updates with the 14s division. Like the 15s division, the top three teams remained the same in the Top 50 with TAV 14 Black, Arizona Storm 14 Thunder and Tstreet 14 Carson. The way we saw it the results didn’t justify any movement and we’ll let it be settled at Junior Nationals, as those three have proven themselves the top contenders by far. Mizuno Long Beach 14 Rockstar continues its climb up the rankings, moving inside the Top 5 for the first time, while another So Cal club in Forza1 North 14 One made a move inside the Top 10. MAVS KC 14-1 also joined Forza North in the Top 10, while a pair of Nor Cal clubs in Vision 14 Gold and Absolute 14 Black appear in the Top 50 for the first time. vballrecruiter.com’S TOP 50 NATIONAL RANKINGS 1. 15s: Top 50 National Rankings (May 11)

vballrecruiter.com’s May Club National Rankings updates continues on with the 15s division. Skyline 15 Royal’s grip on No. 1 remains. The North Texas Region club has put together an impressive season so far, one that will see it carry the top ranking into Junior Nationals. Mintonette Sports m.51 and Boiler Jrs 15 Gold stayed put at Nos. 2 and 3 respectively, while the shifting and changing begins after that. Hou Skyline 15 Royal moved up to a season-high No. 4, while NKYVC 15-1 Tsunami moved to the Top 10. There was quite a bit of movement overall, as teams moved up and down the rankings based on their latest qualifier results. vballrecruiter.com TOP 50 NATIONAL RANKINGS 1. 16s: Top 50 National Rankings (May 10)

With the 18s wrapping up their season, we saw plenty of movement in the latest update. We also saw a new No. 1 take over the top spot in the most recent 17s rankings update. However, there is no change at the top when it comes to the 16s division. The No. 1 position remains occupied by 1st Alliance 16 Gold, which recently added the Lone Star Classic gold medal to its collection. Drive Nation 16 Red and Surfside 16 PV Legends remain Nos. 2 and 3 behind 1st Alliance, while Hou Skyline 16 Royal climbed one spot and HJV 16 Elite leapfrogged Arizona Storm 16 Thunder to round out the Top 5. While the powerhouses have been clear to identify, the 16s division has shown a large amount of parity when it comes to filling out the Top 50. There are around 25-30 teams which could fill out the final 10 spots and that’s something to watch for as the season nears its conclusion. vballrecruiter.com TOP 50 NATIONAL RANKINGS 1. 1st Alliance 16 Gold (IL) (1 – previous ranking) 2. 17s: Top 50 National Rankings (May 9)

When it comes to the latest 17s National Rankings update, we are back where we started. At least in terms of the top team in the country. That honor goes to Dynasty 17 Black, which started off the year as the top-ranked team but was replaced by A5 17 Jing. A5 was then displaced by Co Jrs 17 Kevin, which is now being replaced at the top by Dynasty once more. Dynasty recently captured the Lone Star Classic and that helped the club retake the No. 1 spot. There was quite a bit of shifting within the Top 10, though only one team moved in while another moved out. That was Wave 17 Juliana falling out of the Top 10 and Premier Nebraska 17 Gold moving in. All of the Top 10 teams so far have shown a high-level of consistency and thus it’s no surprise they occupy those spots. vballrecruiter.com’s 17s Club Top 50 National Rankings

Our initial rankings were put together as preseason rankings and didn’t account for any results to date, which will change with our next update. vballrecruiter.com’s 18s Club Top 50 National Rankings

You can view the full rankings below. vballrecruiter.com TOP 50 NATIONAL RANKINGS 1. Dynasty 17 Black (KS) (2 – previous ranking) 2. TAV 17 Black (TX) (4) 3. Triangle 17 Black (NC) (7) 4.
