The Under Armour Next Middle School Camp Series in Orlando helped kick start the AAU Girls’ Junior National Volleyball Championships yesterday with kids coming in from Idaho, Utah, California, Pennsylvania, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Louisiana and Florida. The 2026-2029 classes were represented. There were four MVP’s that were given out at the end of the camp: 2026 L Audrey Johnson (Kandi Elite), 2026 OH Leilani Lawrence (OTVA), 2026 OH Sydney Sutter (West Florida Waves) and 2027 MB Payton Gravelle (Kandi Elite).
We want to shine a spotlight on some other athletes who played well yesterday. At the setting position 2026 Nevaeh Tien (Club V), 2026 Mckenzie Trip (Bold Athletics), 2027 S/Opp Ellery Deboer (Kandi Elite), 2028 Molly Monday (Tampa North), 2028 Annaliese Bergstedt (TAV), 2028 Elle White (Game Point), 2029 Olivia Ledoyen (360 Volleyball Club) and 2029 S Gretah Angle (208 Volleyball Club) showed finesse and leadership on the court.
At the libero position 2026 Avery Webb (JJVA), 2026 Kaylee Maikranz (High Tide), 2026 Lilly Coletta (CJV), 2026 Addison Saunders (CJV), 2026 Cassidy Polman (Capital Volleyball), 2027 Kinsley Platt (Tallahassee VBA) and Ashyr Godwin (UpOnTop VBC) were scrappy and explosive.
In the middle 2026 MB Brielle Janssen (Kandi Elite) and 2027 MB Bailey Johanson (UpOnTop VBC) shined.
At the outside hitter position 2026 OH Kassandra Gibson (Wizards), 2026 OH Reese Shugart (Upward Stars), 2026 Yasmin Marti (Tribe), 2026 Destiny Wiggins (Tribe), 2027 Paige Perkins (Top Select), 2028 OH Peyton Robinson (A5) and 2028 Lauren Smelcer (Triangle) brought fire, athleticism and heart to the court.
